Presented by the Veterans for Peace and the Ozaukee Community Awareness Forum, you are invited to attend a session offered by Milwaukee area veterans of Iraq, the Gulf War and Vietnam:
JULY 1, 7 to 10 p.m. - Port Washington Police Community Room, 365 N. Wisconsin Street.
In the leadup to the fifth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, in Washington, D.C. hundreds of veterans of these wars, along with active duty soldiers, came together ot offer testimony about the horrors of war, including atrocities they witnessed or committed themselves.
The name, "Winter Soldier" is derived from the opening line of Thomas Paine's pamphlet, THE CRISIS, published in 1776:
"These are the times that try mens' souls: the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country, but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman."
HEAR AND SEE THE REAL COST OF THE IRAQ INVASION SINCE IT OCCURRED OVER FIVE YEARS AGO!
(Please do not park in the police station parking lot. Thank you!)
